Position: Region 2 Coordinator Stats: Married; Daughter 17, Son 14 Education: Tulsa Community College
How I Got Started: In 1994 I took a position for an Account Representative for LDDS Worldcom. I enjoyed assisting customers with their business communications needs. Prior to a major layoff I took a graphic position for Lifetouch in 1997. I worked in the typesetting department doing yearbook layout and picture overlays. In my spare time I designed the forms needed by the office. In 2000 I applied for a forms analyst position for St. John Medical Center. I have been at St. John now for 8 years. I am often asked what I do for a living and I proudly answer, “forms designer”. Then I get the weird look and have to explain. I love what I do, the interactions with people and providing services that makes their jobs much easier.
Current Professional Duties: I work for a large health system so we are continually designing and revising forms as health care changes and improves. I analyze, design, and implement both paper and electronic forms as well as create enhanced workflow processes for department’s specific needs.
BFMA’s Potential Growth: Getting the word out to people who are unaware of the association. So many people and businesses can benefit from the many opportunities BFMA has to offer.
Most Fun Part of BFMA: Going to symposium of course! My first symposium was St. Louis 2007. I had a blast. The BFMA members were very welcoming, the sponsors and vendors brought so much information it made it worth going.
Favorite Book(s): One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss.
Passionate About: My family and friends. Traveling, especially trips to Eureka Springs and Ohio. I love sitting on my back porch swing with a glass of iced tea.
Favorite Quote: Every man gives his life for what he believes. Every woman gives her life for what she believes. Sometimes people believe in little or nothing yet they give their lives to that little or nothing. One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. And then it is gone. But to sacrifice what you are and live without belief, that's more terrible than dying. – Joan of Arc
